Snap-on cover, screw and insert options, new stands
6 Sep 2026 · 13:30- Snap-on back cover: flexible tabs on the cover click into windows in the body wall; open it with a fingernail via the notch on the bottom edge. Or the combination "clips at the top + 2 screws at the bottom". Prints without supports.
- Choose the cover screws: M2.5 / M3 / M4, self-tapping into plastic or a heat-set threaded insert with the matching hole, pan head (cylindrical counterbore) or countersunk (90° conical countersink). The summary recommends the screw length.
- Fixed: the corner screw bosses were separated from the walls by a 0.3 mm gap and "levitated" – they are now fused into the body corner (cylinder + fill into both walls).
- Three stand types: the wedge with a lip (now with a USB cable channel under the USB cutout), two feet for the bottom edge of the frame (smallest print, works without a back cover) and a kickstand plugged into a tilted socket in the back cover, like a photo frame.
- Fixed: edge cutouts (USB‑C etc.) on a wide frame did not go through the whole wall into the cavity.
Battery, mat, acrylic, display catalogue and more accurate dimensions
2 Sep 2026 · 17:00- Battery holder on the inside of the back cover: pick a cell (Li‑Po 503035/603450/606090, CR2032, 2× AAA, 2× AA, Li‑Ion 14500 and 18650) or enter custom dimensions. The fence has a cable slot and the configurator checks the battery fits behind the panel.
- Mat: a printed insert with a window smaller than the visible area by a chosen overlap – a separate part in STL, ZIP and 3MF. Plus optional room for an acrylic sheet in front of the panel.
- Cutting drawings: download the acrylic and mat outlines as DXF + SVG in millimetres – ready for a laser, plotter or manual cutting.
- Your own image on the display in the 3D preview – the photo is converted to black-and-white dots like on a real e-paper (Floyd–Steinberg dithering). Preview only, nothing is stored.
- A new Display catalogue page with filters by vendor, diagonal and colours – jump straight into the configurator with the display pre-selected.
- Catalogue dimensions were checked against manufacturer datasheets – 15 entries refined (incl. the 9.7″ ED097TC2, Inkplate 6, the 13.3″ panel and Waveshare modules, which now use the full board size).
Epaperix.cz launches 🎉
1 Sep 2026 · 18:00- A new configurator of frames and stands for e-paper displays – sister project of Krabix.cz. Pick a display from the catalog (LaskaKit Live, Pájeníčko PaperBoard, Good Display / Waveshare 2.13–13.3″ panels, LilyGO T5, Inkplate, M5Paper…) or enter your own dimensions and the frame is designed around it.
- Frame with a body for electronics, screw-on back cover with keyhole / screw holes / magnets / vents, desk stand with adjustable tilt, cutouts for USB‑C, buttons and other connectors per display, engraved labels anywhere.
- Test frame: a thin ring to verify the panel dimensions in a 10-minute print – before printing the whole frame. Catalog dimensions come from datasheets; each model gets the "print-verified" badge once someone confirms it.
- Live 3D preview with a sample screen on the display, per-part STL, ZIP and 3MF, user accounts with a gallery, and the "We print and ship your frame" service.
